When Valentines Speak

As I stood in front of the rack of Valentine cards, my desire was clear: Valentines for my grandchildren who live far away to let them know I love them. Classic Snoopy, trendy Disney princess, race cars, sports, hearts, or glitter. It’s a tough choice. For me, it’s all about the sentiment inside. I can love from a distance when Valentines speak.

A Valentine’s love message isn’t just for February 14^th. Expressions of love are needed every day.

That’s what God had in mind when He sent His only Son to live among us. Jesus is God’s gift of love to us. His word is His sentiment—His Valentine. From Genesis to Revelation, the red thread of love helps us to know Him. His call of love rings out through every goodness, in every provision, and by the kindness of others.

His Valentine Speaks with Sentiments Like:

I have chosen you from the foundation of the world.

Because of Jesus, You are adopted into My forever family.

I have bought you with a price – redeemed you from sin – and you are mine.

I love you with an everlasting love.

—a love that took Jesus to the cross. His love cost everything.

Love is the gift that never runs out. The more you love, the more you have to give away.

So, who can you love on today? It isn’t so much what that looks like on the outside, but everything from the sentiment within your heart. Let your Valentines speak to those you love.

So send a Valentine this week—or two or three. It’s a message they need to hear.
