Seasons are Trustworthy
I am never afraid that Spring won’t appear. Seasons are trustworthy—you can depend on them. We often don’t think of why—we simply expect it. Every year we welcome winter, spring, summer, and fall—the way it’s always been. The seasonal patterns are as old as time.
The sun and moon govern the seasons. The tip of the Earth’s axis affects them too. Their amazing design keeps us going day after day, year after year. Did you know that the Earth is perfectly placed in our solar system for the sun’s warmth? Like Goldilocks, not too hot or too cold. Any closer we would burn up. Any further away, we would freeze. Ponder that 🙂
What a marvelous Creator who took every detail into account.
Welcome Spring Things after a Long Winter
After a long winter, I welcome spring weather. It makes me smile. The days are longer. The sun seems brighter. And porch time is coming. I love sitting on the porch during the nice weather. Tea and breakfast…on the porch. Listening to the crickets every evening…on the porch. Watching the birds care for their young. Herbs growing. Potted flowers smiling. The porch is my happy place.
The Earth is waking up from its slumber and I am too. New beginnings. Novel ideas. Possible projects. Everything is in COLOR!!
Every Season His Its Beauty
Every season has its gifts and more than anything I want to enjoy them fully. For me, winter is a time of quiet, a lull after a busy season. Spring helps me emerge from my cocoon and flex my wings for something new. Summer brings bounty and fullness—a beauty that takes my breath away. And, fall is crisp, clean, and ready for the Earth to rest again.
There are seasons for you and me too. Our energy and productivity rise and wane. Yet, every season is full of good things to enjoy. The key is to ponder what God is doing in and around us in every season. This is the gift we are given when we acknowledge and give thanks for every good thing – God is glorified. And, we experience His joy.

You Are God’s Wonderful Creation
Our Creator took time to fashion you and me. Every detail, talent, and feature makes us unique—and designed on purpose. The beautiful thing is, God has put you and me here, in this time, this place, this season…to find Him, flourish, and enjoy His presence.
The Creator that spoke the Universe into being speaks over our lives too. And pronounces us very good.
So as spring emerges in your world, let it remind you of a purposeful God who knows your name and sees your potential. New things are bursting forth. In this season, beauty is born out of a sleepy world. God has something planned….because He is always up to something good.

Beautifully written………I love the peaceful lull of winter after the holidays………solitude….becomes okay for a while. Now, with you in Ct. the birds are coming, Maine, not quite yet, but the days of warm sun and melting are very much appreciated. Each season is the LORD’S preparation for something more. Thank you, Jeanne
There is a message of rest here…for the earth, and for us. God’s design. Thanks, Mom for your thoughts.
Ecclesiastes 3:1 states, “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.” (NIV) Just as we look forward to the earthly seasons, what about our spiritual seasons in life? I look forward to the day when “spring” spiritually speaking comes to us all, when we, like spring on earth, are made new once and for all and step into eternity with our Lord.
Beautiful, Sheree. Amen to that
Even though I am in the south, winter can still be cold. I love the warmer weather and the emerging blooms. I also like to plant a vegetable garden and just be able to be outside. Love your picture at the heading of the blog of the basil and rosemary. I can almost smell it!
Thanks for sharing, Barbara. Of course that was a previous year’s herb bounty. But oh yes, I love the smell. I have potted basil, rosemary, and parsley outside the kitchen door…so convenient when I’m cooking dinner.
