Step Away From Confusion
When unrest rises
Step away from confusion
Take a walk
Change of scenery
2020 is a flood of confusion
So many changes
So much misunderstanding
So many disappointments
So many questions
Weary
Waiting
Wishing
Worn
When I take time to be, my soul settles.
Confusion fades
Understanding dawns
Silver linings appear
Gratefulness swells
Peace descends
Why don’t I step away more often?
#StepAwayFromConfusion to unravel your thought knots. #FindPeace in stillness Share on X
I needed to step away from confusion this week. I drove into Putnam, took a walk along the River Trail and soaked in the view. I captured some photos too. It helped to unravel my thoughts. Thoughts that have invaded, crowded, and taken over since the unrest began.
And I decided; I need to do it more often.
How do you unravel the knots of the world? #StepAway and #FindPeace Share on X
What about you? How do you unravel the knots of the world? What helps you to refocus on God’s presence and goodness?
Jeanne
I am unraveling for a few days…I will continue the series in Acts Chapter Six next time.

Jeanne, truly taking in tranquility is one way to step out of the discouraging, confusion of late……..
Thank you for reminding us, sharing your walk.
Jan, It is like dusting away the cobwebs. Making room for more of Him
We all need to unravel from time to time. Jesus stepped away from the crowds to rest and spend time with His Father. How much more should we?
So much truth in that statement, Barbara. Minimizing the distractions even for a few moments goes a long way to feeling His presence and hearing His heart. Thanks for your input
Excellent advice indeed. It’s soul food to step away and breathe. At this minute, I’m sitting by a lake watching my grandsons fish. I must get back to it.
PS– I enjoyed your pictures too.
Fishing with your grands sounds like the perfect getaway, Connie! Thanks for sharing this. Yes, soul food it is. 🙂
You inspired me. I am going to step away from it right now and take a walk. I understand the need to clear your head. Thanks!
Like sweeping away cobwebs, Joanna. Enjoy your walk and thank you for commenting today
I love your description, “unraveling the knots.” That’s very apt. We’re blessed, aren’t we, that walking in God’s amazing Creation is a balm to our weary spirits?
Indeed it is a balm. I believe that’s why He says it so often…Come away with me. Thanks for your comment. I am a crocheter, so the untangling of knots is a visual I can understand 🙂
Hi Jeanne,
Sometimes I think we assumed that we would be content to be at home all the time but we do need to change the scenery and be refreshed.
I agree, Sheree. It changes our perspective and awakens creativity too. I think it is a mental health need for sure.
My husband and I have been walking on a trail beside a river. The peace of God’s creation is calming and reviving. Your photos and post are beautiful reminders to take time for “unraveling the knots.”
So glad you have taken advantage of the nature nearby, Jeannie. It is calming and reviving-I agree. I think it helps us to recenter our thinking upon God and His truth. Focus on the positive and good. And His peace is a result.
Oh Amen and double-Amen Ms. Jeanne. So much confusion, double-talk, etc. We don’t know who to believe anymore; of course sans God’s word, everything else is just worldly clamor. We can sure get caught up in it though can’t we? Have never been to Putnam, CT, but it sure sounds like. I have watched from the shores of the Connecticut River a few times and I love how peaceful those wooded settings are in northern CT. I don’t have a river running through the ranch, but two of my favorites spots to escape to are a hill on the western edge of the ranch and under the pine trees in the barnyard. My “return to normal” happens in my “God time.” I use that time, morning and night these days, to recover, refocus, and refresh. God is good!
Oh, I love my God-time too, J.D. It is the best reviver for sure.
