O Glorious Day – Where is Your Hope?
We gather via Zoom to study Psalm 146, and in verse 5 it says: Blessed are those whose help is in the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the LORD their God. This follows a warning not to put our trust in those who cannot save us. As I ponder this, I have to ask, Where is your hope?
Our discussions have been both challenging and rich especially in light of the year we’ve had. We all agree that we are looking for hope in a world that seems hopeless right now.
Recently, I wrote this poem about my hope in God. I hope it speaks to you today…
O Glorious Day
Come…
O Glorious Day
You shine like the sun
Your presence never wanes
You cast hope over your people
Inviting them to come
To dwell
To live out their days
Without fear
Without condemnation
Sealed with a pledge for eternity
Rich with promises
In abundance
Your Spirit resides
In the temple of your people
Giving power and strength
for their daily walk
Directing their path to stay
Under the shadow of your wings
The protection of Your mercy
The gift of Your grace
No worry for tomorrow
You are already there
You are Emmanuel – God with us
Come to show us the way
You call—
Come, follow Me
Live in My presence
Trust in my goodness
Accept My offering
To pay the debt you owe
Redeemed from death’s penalty
I will revive your spirit
To hear my voice
And recognize your Creator
To fill the void I alone can satisfy
This is the day…
Come
Where is Your Hope today?
We are full of expectancy that our lives will get back to normal. We are watching the effectiveness of the vaccine and hope it will put an end to the virus once and for all. So many need jobs restored so the weight of our finances will be lifted. Many have lost loved ones, either to Covid or other means. We miss family. We long for the ability to get out without the worry of exposure. Yet in the middle of the gray clouds, there is always hope.
Despite how things appear, in the middle of the gray clouds, there is always #hope. #WhereIsYourHope Share on X
God is our hope and if you know Jesus, He is within you. The Holy Spirit gives glimpses of hope every day because of the ability to use our spiritual eyes to see what others do not. In the middle of the dark, God is calling us to be His light. Show kindness. To love as He loves. And share the hope we have with others.
I read a quote recently that resonated with me(author unknown):
Kindness is loaning someone your strength,
instead of reminding them of their weakness
Our world needs ambassadors of hope. #ShareGodsLove #KindnessMatters Share on X
Our world needs ambassadors of hope. We have been given the gift of grace, and it’s meant to be given away. This week, let’s consider ways to share the grace we have been given. Love as He loves. Be kind. Come alongside others and be the hands and feet of Jesus.

A power packed post. May your message result in more of us speaking up as the Lord’s ambassadors of Hope.
Teach on!
Thank you for stopping by, Carolyn. Your encouragement is always sweet. I think (speaking for myself) I don’t rely as much as I should on the power we have in Christ to be an influencer in the world. May God grow me in this area 🙂
How sweet is this poem HE has given you. Hearing each other as we share…….I also look toward being more light to those without HIM. Thank you, Jeanne
Hi Jeanne,
If we lose hope, we have lost the reason for life itself. Indeed we have a living hope in Jesus. For that reason alone we have the strength to persevere. Thanks for the poem, very inspirational!
You are so right, Sheree. And there are so many who have lost that will to live–suicides are on the rise, etc. So how can we be intentional about reaching others with the message of hope? They are not alone. They are seen and heard. They are here for a purpose.
I love the imagery of God casting hope over us like a net, capturing us with His love and care. Blessings, Jeanne!
Thanks for stopping by and giving it a read. 🙂 O if only people would see their need of true hope
Loved, loved, loved this post Ms. Jeanne; and the poem was most wonderful ma’am. So often, we try to find hope in everything but its source. So very well said ma’am. God’s blessings.
Thank you, J.D. I appreciate you stopping in and sharing your thoughts. Praying that the veil will be removed so that people can see the source of all things.
Jeanne, I love you poem. It speaks of the great hope we have in our Savior.
Thank you, Barbara. I appreciate you stopping in today and sharing your thoughts
Your message of hope is just what we need. It seems as if it has been “dark and cloudy” for a LONG time. But we have God’s promise, “Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength, they shall rise up on wings of eagles. They shall run and not be weary, walk and not faint.” Isa 40:31. Thank you for sharing your beautiful poem and this message of hope.
One of my favorite verses, Katherine. Thank you for sharing your insights today
Jeanne, your poem is beautiful. I’m grateful He is our hope in this world and appreciate the encouragement to be hope-givers. The world truly does need His ambassadors.
Peace and grace,
Tammy
Thanks for stopping by today, Tammy. Grace and Peace, my friend.
I love the truth that our world needs ambassadors of hope. People that will encourage others to hold on because God’s not done yet. Thanks for your uplifting words.
I appreciate you stopping in, Joanna. He is our hope for sure!
