I have never really been big on giving up things during Lent.
But this year I have decided to take time away from technology as much as possible.
So from February 10 – March 27 I am pretending I live on Gilligan’s Island – a 21st century version of that anyway [Tweet This]

I want to meet with the One who loves me – just me and Jesus. I want to read His word. I want to journal my thoughts. I want to enjoy my home. Go for walks.
I want to pause and listen.
So this year I am giving up things for Lent [Tweet This]
I am not sure what that means for my blog posts yet. I hope while pausing, I will hear a thing or two to share with you here. But, don’t worry, I will be back….
Hopefully refreshed and revived.
I also plan to read, The Power of Pause: Becoming More by Doing Less by Terry Hershey. I’ll be sure to share a little about this book in the future too.
Whether you give things up for lent or not, there is always a time to draw nearer to the One who loves you.
Easter reminds us of Jesus taking our sin on Himself – being crucified on the cross even though He was innocent – and being raised from the dead, victorious over sin and death. He gave Satan a whipping that day. Actually, Jesus drove a nail through a sign that said,
It Is Finished!
And now we have victory over the darkness in Jesus’ name!!
Do you pause in some way during lent?
